Nectarine Galette

With the summer almost coming to a close I wanted to share another dessert that showcases some of the fruit that is in season right now. This was my first time having a galette, it was a very light dessert getting most of it's sweetness from the nectarines. It was simple and quick to prepare especially if you use pre-made pie dough. The main reason I made this was because my sister Kathryn must have mentioned that she wanted a nectarine galette a dozen times in the last two months so when we got a bunch of nectarines in our fresh box a few weeks ago I knew this dessert would make her very happy. Just a side note because the size of the pre-made pie dough, the galette was on the smaller size so we cut it into four pieces, if you are entertaining I would suggest making more than one.

Ingredients:
1 Pre-made pie dough round
3-4 Ripe Nectarines
1 Tbsp Honey
1 Tbsp I Can't Believe it's Not Butter
1 Egg White
1 Tbsp Sugar

Adapted from: http://ohmyveggies.com/

Start by preheating your oven to the temperature on the package of pre-made pie dough, mine was at 425 F. Put one of your pre-made pie dough rounds in the middle of a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Slice your nectarines and arrange them in the center of the dough leaving a border of about 2 inches.
Drizzle the honey over top of the nectarines. Fold the dough up towards the fruit, going around in a circle till you have created a crust. Cut the margarine into small pieces to spread out over top of the nectarines. Brush the dough with the egg white and sprinkle only the dough with the sugar. Bake about 20 minutes until the crust is light brown and the fruit is tender. Allow to cool about 5 minutes and serve immediately.
Enjoy!!
