Apple Cider Oatmeal

We went apple picking at Eastmont Orchards this weekend after a quick overnight trip to Baltimore to see Sam. Apple picking is always a fun time and if you have never tried it you should. It's unfortunately starting to be oatmeal weather here in New Jersey so I recommend giving this version a try when you want to change up your oatmeal a little bit.

1/2 cup quick oats
1/2 cup apple cider
1/2 cup water
1/3 of an apple, cored and cut into very small pieces
1 tbsp chopped pecans
sprinkle of brown sugar
sprinkle of cinnamon

Put oatmeal in microwaveable bowl.  Add cider and water and microwave for 1-1/2 to 2 minutes.  Stir the oatmeal and top with cut up apple pieces, chopped pecans, brown sugar and cinnamon.

Enjoy!!  Susan

  1. I am not an oatmeal fan but I think I could eat it with apples and lots of cinnamon and brown sugar. As a kid I would pile the brown sugar so that I had at least a tablespoon of brown sugar with each tsp of oatmeal...the only way I could eat it. :). Thanks for sharing on foodie friends friday and remember to come back and vote on Sunday.

  2. We will just love the Apple Cider that you have added to the oatmeal. Hope you are having a great weekend and thank you so much for sharing with Full Plate Thursday.
    Come Back Soon!
